Amanda Brugel

(February 27th of 2010 to Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a secluded community in the part of Montreal called"the West Island. The West Island has a lot of diverse communities. Many who've never known about it may mistake it for a separate island facing west. Amanda Brugel is said to have been born on the West Island. But this isn't the truth. Brugel was raised in Courtice located just outside of Oshawa. Her initial ambition was to become an actress, but after a sudden increase in size, her friends weren't able to dance with her. In an article published in The Toronto Star she admitted In heels, I'm 6 feet one inch. When I surpassed the size of my male companion then I slowed down. Former dancers often turn into acting. In the case of Brugel it was an urging from her high school teacher in drama. Her teacher suggested she audition as Anne in their annual school production. After a few auditions her options, she was eventually the main character for Anne of Green Gables. When she was awarded the Fine Arts Talent Scholarship, she attended York University and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 2000. Over the past 20 years since Brugel has landed roles in over 60 shows on the big and small screens. She attracted the most interest when she was offered the role of Rita on the award-winning series The Handmaid's Tale (pictured below). Brugel was the character the character of Rita on The Handmaid's tale the series produced over the course of ten years.
